Revitalise Waterford City's visitor experience by blending its deep-rooted history with cutting-edge augmented reality (AR) and audio storytelling. We aimed to make the city's past resonate with today’s digital audience, driving up engagement and turning every corner of Waterford into a captivating narrative waiting to be discovered.
Breaking down the brief
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Teamed up with local councils, museum heads, and historians to dig deep into Waterford’s legacy.
- Content Curation: Picked 15 standout stories from Waterford’s timeline, ensuring a mix that’d intrigue history enthusiasts and casual visitors alike.
- Tech Integration: Mapped out an AR journey that’s easy to dive into, from interactive games to 360º scenes, all accessible via a simple app.
- Visitor Engagement: Designed to draw in both locals and tourists, turning foot traffic into an exploration of hidden tales and historical gems.

Digging Deep: Kicked off with exhaustive research, ensuring every story was rooted in factual history yet narrated in a way that clicks today.
Creative Tech: Rolled up our sleeves to blend audio narratives with AR magic, creating a user-friendly interface that transforms smartphones into time machines.
Iterative Design: Launched, listened, and tweaked. The project was a two-way street, with visitor feedback shaping the trail’s evolution.
Marketing Magic: Didn’t just build it and hope they’d come. We marketed the trail as a must-see digital adventure, getting the word out far and wide.
