Maser - Around The Block

Acknowledging Maser's unique blend of street art, murals, and gallery pieces, the decision was made to develop two augmented reality  experiences. The first was an external display on the gallery's facade, creating an optical illusion that transformed the building's exterior into a canvas for Maser's dynamic art. The second experience was set inside the gallery, where an AR overlay on Maser's physical artworks transformed the entire room into an encompassing, interactive experience. This approach was designed to reflect Maser's artistic journey and the evolution of his style, from public spaces to the curated environments of galleries.

The process was inspired by the optical illusions often found in billboards, with the RHA Gallery becoming the canvas for this ambitious project. We created 3D animations that echoed Maser's signature style, incorporating elements of movement, sound, and his distinctive approach to painting. These animations transcended traditional static displays, morphing into animated objects and shapes that moved transiently, engaging viewers in a multi-sensory experience. This innovative use of AR technology not only paid homage to Maser's roots in street art but also highlighted the fluid boundary between different art forms, offering gallery visitors an entirely new dimension through which to appreciate and connect with his work.
